Rain, Rain, Come and Stay!

April 24, 2016

I LOVE rain! I find it so cleansing. And the smell after is just to die for. I have always loved the sound of rain especially in the forest. Growing up on an acreage I got to be surrounded by the best thunderstorms where the trees would just shake and the sound of rain hitting the leaves just flooded the outdoors. It was amazing. When I moved to Glasgow to do my MA in Musical Theatre, I was excited because, duh, it rains all the time! How could I EVER get sick of it?!! I’m a little silly sometimes. I got sick of it fast. Being drenched and cold all the time and having to walk 25 minutes uphill to school was just not my idea of a good time! BUT I still loved the smell. Now that I have been back in Canada for 4 years (HOW HAS IT BEEN THAT LONG?!) rain is growing on me again. I will almost always venture outside in the rain just to feel the nostalgia of it all! And days like this are perfect for my obsession with watching the Anne of Green Gables movie series. I forced Joel to get off his butt and go to the river valley with me to be in the rain for a bit. (I don’t think he likes rain as much as me — although we have some good rain stories for another time about when we first started dating). If you love rain as much as I do you’ll understand the need to go jump in a puddle. Also I had to test out my new raincoat 😉
