Coney Island

May 4, 2016

Although I’ve been to NYC many times, I have never gone to Coney Island! I think I have wanted to go ever since I saw the movie “Uptown Girls”. We decided we would go on this trip and see what it was all about.

The weather wasn’t the greatest, but it didn’t rain and it wasn’t busy so I wasn’t complaining! We rode on the ferris wheel and even though I don’t have a big fear of heights I couldn’t help but think I was going to fall out of the rickety old cage we were sitting in!!! (I give a lot of credit to Joel because he HATES heights and I managed to get him up there!) It was beautiful to look down and see the New York skyline on one side, and the endless open ocean on the other! Worth the money it cost to get up there!

We also rode the teacups (how could you not?!) it was a lot of fun. We spun very fast… at least it felt like it….I think the kids sitting in the cup beside us weren’t too impressed haha!

I loved walking on the boardwalk and just taking in the ocean air. It was super windy but it was fine by me. Being landlocked back home makes me a bit crazy sometimes. I love the water so much!

I naturally had to buy some cotton candy, because how can you not when you are at Coney Island?! I felt like a kid again and it was nice to spend the time with Joel just being goofy. Sorry about the overload of pictures, I just love all the colours!
