As I get older I’m realizing how much of a superwoman my mum is/was. Growing up she was able to sew our clothes, make dinners, teach, support us, drive me to activities, do arts and crafts, take us on picnics, dance in the kitchen and read us a bedtime story all before 9 pm. Her passion for life and drive to pursue the things she loves has always been inspiration for me. I can never remember a day where my mum didn’t go out and take advantage of everything life has to offer. She has always supported my brother and I to pursue our own passions and never put any obstacles in our way. Having grown up with a mum who loves the arts I have never felt like the life I am leading as a dead end, and I love her for that. My mum always made sure I kept up my grades at school through encouragement and support rather than pressure. She somehow always managed to balance work with play and I am so grateful to have had a childhood so full of fond memories. I definitely got my wanderlust from my mum! She never let “settling down” get in the way of adventure. I am so happy to be able to call her my mother and I hope that I can age as beautifully and as gracefully as she has. Happy mother’s day mum. I love you to infinity! Can’t wait for our next adventures together!
