Pom Pom Sweater + Q & A

October 24, 2017

When I saw this sweater at Zara I was very excited. Although Joel…not so much! I have to admit it is a bit ridiculous, but it is so cozy and soft and I can’t say no to pom poms this season! I think I’m just going to go as a pom pom for halloween this year…
I wanted to do a quick q&a as it feels like I haven’t really introduced myself here in a while and I have some new readers! So here it goes!

Q. How long have you been blogging?
A. I started this blog in February 2016!

Q. Why do you blog?
A. I’ve always journaled, and I have always loved taking photos, so I thought, why not put the two together. Even before I blogged I was constantly doing DIY’s and trying out new braids etc. so I thought, why not just document it online? I never thought I would have so many readers but all the content I make I would still be doing even without my blog!

Q. How do you have time to blog?
A. I get asked this ALL the time. I’m like the energizer bunny and have a really hard time shutting off. Whenever I have a free moment I am constantly looking for the next thing to do. Surprisingly, I have felt this blog easy to maintain, despite how busy my life is!

Q. What do you do besides blog?
A. I work in theatre in Edmonton. I do a lot of teaching (music, dance, theatre) and I also musical direct a lot in the city. I am also an improviser!

Q. Did you go to school, and if so, where?
A. I did the Theatre Arts program at MacEwan University and then later I moved to Scotland and graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with my MA in Music Theatre.

Q. Where did you grow up?
A. I was a bit all over the place growing up. I was born in Alberta, but then moved to Mexico City when I was 7. I lived there a few years, then moved back to Canada, then back to Mexico, then back to Canada before I went to Scotland!

Q. Where is your favourite place you have travelled?
A. This is a tough one. I have made it a bucket list item to travel to somewhere new every year (this year it was Ireland). My favourite places have been: the Galapagos, Costa Rica, Iceland, and Scotland.

Q. How did you and Joel meet?
A. Joel and I went to high school together, but I am actually 2 years older than him so I didn’t even know who he was! We ended up meeting for real in 2012 when I started working at a coffee shop that he also worked at. (We only ever worked once shift together)

Q. What is the hardest thing about blogging?
A. To me the hardest thing is making sure the content I make is something I am passionate about. I hate posting because I feel I need a “post”. I truly am proud of each and every post I have made and think that they all reflect me honestly.

Q. Who takes your photos?
A. It is a mix between Joel and I. I take almost all the DIY photos, and Joel takes almost all photos of me. I do take many myself though as he has a lot of his own work and this is a project of mine. But he does help a lot and I can’t thank him enough! (All the pictures in this post I actually took myself!)

Q. How do you edit your photos?
A. I use a program called Lightroom and I have created presets for myself to use. I love playing around with editing and am constantly trying to lock in my style! Looking back on photos over the two years of the blog I have come a long way! (I have never done any courses and do not consider myself a photographer by any means! But I have fun!)

Q. What are you excited for this year?
A. I am most excited for all the DIY I will be doing for our upcoming wedding, so stay tuned for that!!!
