It always saddens me when I realize my favourite time of year has come and gone! December 26 is the worst day of the year for me because it is the furthest from Christmas. Does that make me weird? Well, I don’t care! 😉
This Christmas was a little different from our previous ones because we ended up having most of our family gatherings after Christmas. Normally on Christmas Eve we spend time with Joel’s family but this year we did on the 27. Despite our schedules being a bit mixed up, I have to say I had a great time over Christmas just soaking up every ounce of relaxation and family time. This is my one big break a year, and normally I fill it with things to do, but this year I decided to just enjoy the couch and watch as much Downton Abbey as I could muster.
I think this time of year is important to realize all the blessings I have and to savour each moment with my family. We unfortunately lost of loved one very close to Christmas this year and so being around each other was exactly what I needed. I know that I have been extremely lucky in my life for all the opportunities I have had and for all the people I am so very lucky to call friends and family.
As 2017 is coming to a close, I just want to thank each and every one of you for following along on this journey! It means so much to see how much my little blog is growing and am super excited to continue to share on this journey with you! Stay tuned for my New Years post!
Here are some holiday photos to tide you over 🙂
